A major caveat to the announced $2.1 billion Patriot deal: sources tell Alex Raufoglu the 500 PAC-3 MSE missiles will come from new production and deliveries are not expected before 2030. There is also no agreement yet for Ukraine to manufacture the interceptors domestically, with the Pentagon opting for “further review.” The announcement therefore does little to address Ukraine’s immediate shortage of Patriot interceptors ahead of winter. #Ukraine
