A Panama-flagged commercial vessel caught fire after an attack about 1.6 nautical miles off Oman's Musandam coast. The Royal Navy of Oman evacuated its 25 crew members, according to the country's Maritime Security Centre. Authorities have not identified the vessel, the weapon or the attacker.
In a separate claim, Iran's Revolutionary Guards Navy said it destroyed a U.S. unmanned vessel in the eastern Strait of Hormuz and that 2 tankers stopped south of the strait after ignoring its radio warnings. The U.S. military has not confirmed any loss, and the Iranian claims have not been independently verified, per Reuters.
