A privately owned Learjet 60 crashed in a residential area near Greenacres, Palm Beach County, Florida, around 12:50 p.m. ET Sunday, killing all nine people aboard. The jet had departed Austin, Texas, for North Eleuthera in the Bahamas.

According to available flight tracking data, the 22 year old twin engine jet descended from 35,250 feet to 8,750 feet in a little over a minute before hitting the ground, leaving a crater beside a road near homes and a shopping center.

Recordings retained by capture the crew discussing icing before saying the aircraft was rapidly losing altitude and that they were going to crash. Governor Ron DeSantis said there appeared to be no casualties on the ground. The NTSB and FAA are investigating.
