This follows last month’s exports temporarily exceeding pre-war levels, in turn causing Iran to lose its previous leverage over the strategically important maritime choke point. Iran has since increased strikes on shipping in the strait, as negotiations, increasingly publicly centered on their nuclear program, in actuality, remain centered on the administration of the Strait of Hormuz.
