While the president did not directly threaten to strike the Houthis, which would directly involve the U.S. in the escalating conflict, he did indirectly threaten them in a post-Midterm dynamic, saying *“Somebody should explain to them that I'm not running in the Elections, I've already won, IN A MASSIVE LANDSLIDE, but I'll be there after the Elections, and I will never forget!”
*This cements our and other analysts' assessments that the likelihood for U.S.-led escalation in a post-Midterm dynamic is far higher than it is now. It should also be noted that Saudi Arabia likely continues to petition both the U.S. and other regional partners, including Pakistan/Turkey (subordinate to the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement), and Syria.
