British police arrested a 25 year old dual British-Iranian national in central London on Thursday on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts, tied to Sunday's incident near RAF Fairford. Two properties were searched, however authorities have not disclosed any findings. This is a sixth suspect in the case; the original five men, all British nationals from London in their early 20s, were released on bail Monday after no explosives were found in their vans, though police say the investigation continues and they're looking for others who may be involved.

Laurence Taylor, head of National Counter Terrorism Policing, said investigators are considering "every possible angle, including, that this may be activity committed by proxies, or individuals either knowingly or unknowingly, working on behalf of a foreign state." Secretary of State Marco Rubio said this week the incident "clearly involves the hands of a foreign actor," without naming a country, though he noted Iran has "openly threatened" American interests.

Iran's foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, dismissed the accusations directly on social media: "I can confirm Iran's belief that releasing supposed terrorists working for foreign states really says it all. You're barking up the wrong tree."
