🇺🇸 Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Daryl Caudle received a tour of several sites around NAS Patuxent River during his visit on Oct. 28, 2026, including a briefing of the Navy's Blackbeard air-launched, long-range hypersonic strike missile. An inert variant of the Blackbeard used for captive-carry flight tests is seen here under the starboard wing of an F/A-18F Super Hornet assigned to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 23.
