Fairford B-1 Bomber Training Flights - September 2026
A total of 29 bomber training flights were flown by the fleet of 12 B-1B "Lancer" aircraft in September (with one new arrival at the end of the month), most of the launches featuring 2 aircraft. The sortie rate was fairly consistent, flying every other day (with the exception of 27th September where both sorties were scrapped due to the terrorism incident).

B-1B 86-0124 (DY) "Oh! Hardluck II" - 5
B-1B 86-0134 (EL 34BS) "Thunderbird" - 5
B-1B 85-0060 (EL) "Doolittle Raiders" - 4
B-1B 86-0103 (DY) "The Reluctant Dragon" - 3
B-1B 86-0138 (EL) "Seek and Destroy" - 3
B-1B 86-0108 (EL) "Alien with an Attitude" - 3
B-1B 86-0112 (DY) "The Black Widow" - 2
B-1B 86-0120 (EL) "Whiskey Pete" - 2
B-1B 85-0069 (EL) "Avenger" - 2
New arrival:
B-1B 86-0111 (EL) "Let's Roll"
069 "Avenger" and 120 "Whiskey Pete" have flown the least, and the longest ago, with both EL tails having also experienced issues with availability during the Iran war.
