FOOTAGE: Sirens in Arab al-Aramshe, a Western Galilee village near the Lebanese border, were triggered Saturday night by what the IDF now assesses was most likely a balloon.

IDF, following an in-depth investigation: "Most likely a balloon-like object or a device that floats using hot air." The military says it cannot determine the object's origin or purpose with certainty at this stage, but can determine it was "not a drone or UAV." It may have been a harmless object that drifted into Israeli territory.

Israeli Air Force surveillance and detection systems identified the object, tracked it and directed forces on the ground during the incident. Security was reinforced in area communities until all related checks were completed.

The object has not been located. Home Front Command guidelines for civilians are unchanged. Searches continue in the air and on the ground.
