IDF statement on the unidentified object in northern Israel:
An in-depth investigation points to an object with the characteristics of a balloon or a device floating on hot air. A drone or UAV has been ruled out, and it may have been a harmless object that drifted into Israeli territory.
Air Force observation and detection systems tracked it and guided forces on the ground. Defenses in northern communities were reinforced pending the completion of checks. The object has not been located. No changes to home front instructions.
On the recent wave of false detections and interceptions, the IDF says the gap between a drone and a bird is very small, so no risks are taken once a threat is identified.
