In the last 3 hours, Yemen's west coast front:
Mocha: Government forces said they took the city with air support after heavy fighting, captured Houthi fighters, and took Wahijah to the south. Witnesses said Houthi fighters had left some positions; the Houthis deny any advance.
Bab el-Mandeb and Dhubab: Government forces say they hold the strait and Dhubab airport; a TV crew entered the area. The Houthis fired two missiles there. Pro-Houthi channels claim Ras Murad was retaken (unconfirmed).
Taiz, Jabal Habashi: Government sources say more than 50 Houthi vehicles pulled back from Al Burayhah and Bani Bakari toward Al Kadahah, and that army positions were retaken; a Houthi attack was repelled at Al Aqrud.
Taiz South (Al Ma'afir, Al Mawasit): The Houthis say they drove government forces out of both districts and now hold more than 2,000 km² in the province, including Rashad al-Alimi’s house.
Government Statements: Spokesman Majed al-Nuzaili said a “strategic offensive” on Sanaa has begun. The assistant defense minister said phase one targets Bab el-Mandeb and Mocha. Presidential Council head Rashad al-Alimi said the operation will continue until Sanaa is retaken.
Houthi Statements: Houthi defense officials said strikes will become “more searing and more expansive.” The Houthi aviation center said Saudi airspace is unsafe for civilian flights except over Mecca and Medina.
United States: Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Saudi Arabia has the right to defend itself. A U.S. official said about 200 American advisers support Saudi planning but are not participating in combat.
