Israel has cleared an American company, acting for the Peace Council, to enter Gaza within days and begin mapping sites where Hamas can hand over rifles and combat equipment for destruction. The pilot zone will cover Rafah and Khan Yunis in the southern Strip, both under Israeli control. Weapons handover is a core stage of Trump's peace plan, which calls for Hamas to give up its arsenal and for Gaza to be demilitarized.
