Israeli soldiers will start voting the evening of October 20 for the October 27 national elections, citing operational considerations.
The IDF plans at least 850 polling stations, 25% of them fully mobile for conscripts and reservists in remote locations and inside enemy territory. The military holds some 40 outposts in Gaza, numerous positions in Lebanon and nine in Syria.
Stations stay open through October 27. Soldiers may also vote at civilian stations, with double envelopes preventing anyone from voting twice.
