๐ŸŒ MORNING WATCH | OCT 29

Five things worth watching today, from Iran's military supply chains to renewed missile activity in East Asia.

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ท IRAN โ€” A Reuters investigation has uncovered a network of more than 5,000 entities linked to Iran's Defense Ministry, used to import military and dual-use goods despite sanctions and the US blockade. One agency alone imported $2.3 billion in goods between January 2025 and June 2026. The findings help explain how Tehran has maintained access to components relevant to missile and drone production.

๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ต NORTH KOREA โ€” Seoul reports that Pyongyang launched around 10 short-range ballistic missiles from the Wonsan area. They traveled approximately 250 km before falling into the sea. The launches come amid growing tensions along the inter-Korean border.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ UKRAINE โ€” A Russian drone struck a crowded platform at Dnipro's main railway station, killing at least 14 people, according to Ukrainian authorities. Five more were killed in separate strikes.

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ TAIWAN โ€” Taiwan has mapped 53 Chinese naval and government vessels operating across the Western Pacific, including 34 warships and the Liaoning carrier group east of the Philippines. Their geographic distribution matters more than the headline number.

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ ISRAEL โ€” The head of the Central Elections Committee has asked Shin Bet to investigate suspected foreign interference in Tuesday's election. The allegations remain unproven. Neither Netanyahu nor Eisenkot has secured a parliamentary majority.
