NEW | 🇫🇷 Hundreds of thousands took to the streets across France today in protests over rising living costs, education funding and public services.
Police estimated 110,000 demonstrators in Paris and 410,000 nationwide. The CGT union put the figures at 250,000 and nearly 800,000 respectively.
The Paris march was largely peaceful until clashes broke out near Porte de Vincennes as the demonstration ended. Police used tear gas and water cannons, with confrontations also reported in several other French cities.
