NEW | Iran is offering to help bring Saudi Arabia and Yemen back to the negotiating table.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi spoke with his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan today as tensions continue to rise following the latest attacks on Riyadh.
According to Tehran, Iran is ready to provide whatever assistance it can to help restart dialogue.Iran had already made a similar offer earlier this month. What's different now is that the message comes alongside direct contact between the two foreign ministers, while Saudi Arabia is dealing with repeated Houthi attacks.
I'd watch whether Saudi Arabia actually engages with the proposal, rather than just acknowledging the call.
