NEW | Iranian border guards say they have seized two vessels and detained 50 people in separate operations in waters off Qeshm and Minab.
Hormozgan’s Border Guard Command says the vessels were carrying smuggled fuel and other goods. Iranian authorities have not disclosed the vessels’ names, flags or ownership, or the identities and nationalities of those detained.
This appears to be a border-enforcement case, not another merchant shipping interdiction linked to Iran’s Hormuz transit regime.
Currently there is no evidence that commercial tankers were involved or that the seizures were related to PGSA non compliance enforcement.
