NEW | Ukraine's Starlink connectivity has reportedly been restored, and the development has now received public acknowledgment at the highest defense level.

Following talks at the Pentagon, British Defence Secretary Wes Streeting said he and his US counterpart, Pete Hegseth, welcomed the restoration of the service.

The disruption had affected Ukraine's military satellite communications, interfering with drone strikes and air-defense missions.

But one question remains unanswered: why was the service restricted in the first place?

Asked whether the Pentagon had deliberately limited Ukraine's capabilities to prevent strikes against Russian energy infrastructure, Streeting said that was not his understanding. He acknowledged that the two ministers had not discussed the cause of the interruption and declined to speculate.

Ukrainian military personnel have separately reported that connectivity has returned to normal in some units.
