Oman is officially silent on the Fly Dubai attack attempt. Omanis don't believe the co-pilot did it.
An unofficial Omani source to Kan News: "Everyone here is wondering if this news is true. There are no historical precedents for terrorist acts carried out by Omanis."
Context: Oman was the top candidate to normalize with Israel before the Abraham Accords. Netanyahu met Sultan Qaboos there. After Qaboos died, his cousin cooled ties and moved Oman closer to Iran. Since October 7, Omani public opinion turned hard against Israel, and the country's mufti incites against it at every opportunity.
Omanis have carried out ISIS attacks before.
