REPORT: Dr. Hamed Bakhshi, a regime-aligned academic working with victims' families in Minab, describes officials confronting grieving parents. They asked why the children were enrolled at a school surrounded by military facilities.
Shajareh Tayyebeh elementary school was part of the IRGC Navy's school network. It stood on or beside land tied to an IRGC Navy compound.
U.S. Tomahawk missiles hit it on February 28. Approximately 156 were killed, including around 120 children and dozens of teachers and parents.
Strikes had already begun that morning. The school was still full. Teachers reportedly started calling parents to pick up their children before the missiles arrived.
