Reuters: Houthi forces are now just 80 km from Aden, Yemen's temporary capital and the seat of its Saudi-backed government.
The push came through Lahj province in southern Yemen, where the Houthis made significant gains in recent days. Most residents there have traditionally opposed the militia.
Aden is the main city in the south. The Houthis have not been this close since 2015, when they briefly captured it before Saudi support drove them back.
