🇨🇦 The Canadian Armed Forces can, should, and must communicate frankly with the Canadian public up to the level of detail that publicly available information exposes their operations.
On October 26, CH-148 Cyclone 148802 was filmed having a hard landing in British Columbia. When leadership were briefed, the MLO should have been instructed to put out a message saying they are aware of a video circulating showing an apparent mechanical failure on one of their CH-148 Cyclone helicopters, and while no CAF members were injured, out of an abundance of caution the fleet will have an operational pause while they ensure there isn't a problem that affects the entire fleet.
Instead, they appear to have done nothing, hoping nobody would ask, but @tophlambie did, which in turn provided me with the opportunity to inform the Canadian public that out of the alleged fleet of twenty six (26), there are only really nine (9) on a good day that fly; which seems like pertinent publicly visible information to me. Also, there's no sign any of them have flown since the incident October 26.
The Canadian Armed Forces' predictable and unnecessary secrecy gives me life.
