The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) Center has issued a warning after the master of a vessel reported being struck by an unknown projectile on its starboard side, leaving a hole in the hull. The incident occurred at about 2020 UTC yesterday, roughly 9 nautical miles northeast of Lima, Oman, near the approach to the Strait of Hormuz. The vessel and crew are reported safe, and no environmental impact has been reported. A tanker was also struck by an unknown projectile in nearly the same area on October 22, likely one of the 11 attacks claimed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) over the last 9 days.
