There's nothing special about these flights.

RCH/REACH is the ICAO code of the U.S. Air Force Air Mobility Command. It's their standard callsign.

We'll often see certain number sequences or combinations, but that on it's own is becoming less and less of an indicator of the flights purpose, mission codes are far more useful.

> escort missions over the strait typically do not have an assigned callsign

ALL flights have an assigned callsign, it's just that sometimes they do not appear on ADS-B. KC-135s in particular do not always display a callsign via ADS-B, but will send it via ACARS (if they're using it), and will talk to ATC.

These flights don't look particularly interesting. Judging by the ACARS messages, the C-5 as REACH 5054 for example is a regular Navy support flight.

We have to remember here that before the war, Al Udeid was a huge logistics hub for the U.S. and allies. You would have multiple C-17s and C-5s in and out each day.
