UPDATE | JD Vance says the U.S. moved its B-1 bombers out of RAF Fairford “out of an abundance of caution” following last week’s suspected plot near the base, saying Washington was trying to protect U.S. personnel.

Marco Rubio says there is no direct link established between the bomber move and the Fairford incident, while a NATO military source told Reuters Iran is still considered an acute threat to U.S. assets in Britain.

Washington is treating the threat seriously enough to move valuable aircraft.

UK counter-terrorism police have still not publicly established that Iran directed the Fairford suspects. The latest Fairford update says the sixth arrested man, a dual UK-Iranian national, was released on bail while the investigation continues.
