UPDATE: Russian Kh-101 cruise missiles launched from Tu-95MS and Tu-160M strategic bombers struck three Ukrainian power plants:
Targets:
Prydniprovska TPP — Dnipro
Ladyzhyn TPP — Vinnytsia region
Kryvorizka TPP — Zelenodolsk, Kryvyi Rih district
Prydniprovska TPP, Dnipro:
Approximately 11 missiles targeted the facility, including around 2 with cluster warheads and 9 with high-explosive warheads. One missile reportedly missed the plant and struck east of it, while two landed to the north.
Ladyzhyn TPP: Approximately 20 missiles targeted the facility.
Images from Dnipro show significant damage to Prydniprovska TPP.
Ukraine's air defense struggled to intercept the vast majority of incoming ballistic and cruise missiles tonight. Cruise missiles, which are usually intercepted in significant numbers, largely got through this time.
The situation highlights Ukraine's critical shortage of air defense interceptors and the urgent need for additional supplies.
