UPDATE | The Saudi backed offensive in Yemen has not yet reached Mocha, despite earlier government claims suggesting otherwise.
Fighting is still concentrated around Dhubab and the high ground to the east, which controls the approaches to Bab el-Mandeb. Yemeni military sources on the ground say the earlier announcement that government forces had reached Mocha was premature.
Until government forces actually secure it I’d be careful with any suggestion that the whole Bab el-Mandeb Mocha corridor has been consolidated.
