UPDATE | US / IRAN ๐บ๐ธ๐ฎ๐ท HORMUZ
The US military says nearly 400 commercial ships crossed the Strait of Hormuz over the past week, while Washington's naval blockade has prevented at least $25 billion worth of Iranian crude oil exports.
CENTCOM commander Admiral Brad Cooper released the figures in a new operational update.
According to Cooper, US forces also helped Gulf partners move more than 100 million barrels of crude oil through the Strait during the same sevenday period.
The $25 billion represents CENTCOM's cumulative estimate of exports prevented..
A Reuters investigation published today identified limited shipments of Iranian LPG and jet fuel despite US restrictions. These findings do not necessarily contradict Washington's claims about crude oil exports, but they show that some Iranian energy products are still moving.
