UPDATE | Yemeni government forces are reporting new gains in the Taiz–Lahj highlands, as the rapid Houthi advance inland from Bab el-Mandeb appears to be slowing.
Nation Shield forces, Giants Brigades and al-Subaihah tribal fighters say they captured Jabal Numan and nearby positions, including Dar al-Kafir, after overnight fighting. Arab News reports the advance through Yemeni officials and local reporting.
The battlefield remains contested. There is still no independently established full government control of the Kahboub Mountains, no verified counteroffensive toward Dhubab or Mocha, and no evidence that the broader Houthi offensive has been strategically broken.
