🇾🇪 YEMEN | FIGHTING INTENSIFIES ON MULTIPLE FRONTS
Yemen's government forces and the Saudi-led coalition are reporting new operations against Houthi positions, while the civilian situation around Taiz continues to deteriorate.
In al-Jawf, government forces say they used artillery, drones and airstrikes against Houthi positions, equipment and ammunition depots. No new territorial gains.
The Saudi-led coalition also claims to have destroyed two Houthi ballistic missile launchers in Saada and has released footage of strikes against alleged weapons-smuggling operations near Hodeidah.
Meanwhile, authorities in Taiz accuse the Houthis of blocking water tankers from reaching the besieged city, adding another serious concern for civilians already struggling with shortages.
In Dhamar, the Houthi-run Health Ministry reports that Saudi airstrikes killed three children and wounded more than a dozen people on October 16.
Diplomatically, Yemen's Foreign Minister Afrah al-Zouba has rejected Iran's offer to mediate, accusing Tehran of being directly involved in the conflict.
